Blade runner(1982)

Blade runner(1982) More info:http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0083658/
Directed by Ridley Scott
  • Direction:9/10 - Ridley Scott is again very impressive. His vision of the future is fantastic and able to make the tone of the film very dark. However, the movie pacing can be improved.
  • Production: 8.4/10
  • Editing: 7.5/10 - Pacing is very slow. If it is faster, it would be more entertaining.
  • Acting: 8.7/10 - Not bad acting by Harrison Ford and the villan Rutger Hauer is superb.
  • Character development: 8.5/10
  • Sound: 9.1/10 - The sounds in this film are very impressive.
  • Visual effects: 9/10 - Effects amazingly realistic. (Nominated for best visual effects)
  • Action: 8/10 - Not much action in this film.
  • Cinematography: 9.6/10 - Look at all the buildings! wow! And those advertisements on them. I was amazed that this was a 1982 film.
  • Soundtrack: 9/10 - By Vangelis. Creates the tone for the movie right from the start.

GOOD: What remains is a great Vangelis score, astonishing production design, Hauer's career role -- and a movie that deserves its cult reputation despite an unloving heart. - Susan Wloszczyna, USA Today

BAD: As before, the movie is more impressive for its finely detailed vision of Los Angeles as a futuristic slum than for its story, acting, or message. It's all downhill after the first few eye-dazzling minutes. - David Sterritt , Christian Science Monitor

M:I:3(2006)

M:i:3(2006) More info:http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0317919/
Directed by: J.J. Abrams

  • Direction: 8.5/10- This is J.J. Abrams first feature length movie. A summer blockbuster. And what a great action film it is. Very good camara work. The shaky camara makes you feel you are part of the action.
  • Production: 8/10
  • Editing: 8.4/10 - Good editing of the action sequences.
  • Acting: 9/10 - Tom Cruise acting is again top class but Philip Seymour Hoffman, the villan, is simply stunning! I think he is given too little screen time. Everytime you see his face, you will feel uneasy.
  • Sound: 8.7/10 - The sound effects are very loud and enjoyable.
  • Visual effects: 8.5/10 - i am not sure if there is any CGI as everything looks real. But some parts surely have CGI and i think the CGI is one of the best. I expected lots of CGI in this film but i could barely detect any.
  • Action: 9.1/10- Action. Lots of them. BOOM! BANG!BOOM! "One-liner"BOOM! Very impressive action sequences. Wondefully done! You will be entertained.
  • Cinematography: 8/10 - Some parts amazing.
  • Soundtrack: 8.5/10 - The main theme and the action combine very well.

GOOD: A gratifyingly clever, booby-trapped thriller that has enough fun and imagination and dash to more than justify its existence. - Owen Gleiberman Entertainment Weekly

BAD: Watching this movie is like sitting on your couch for two hours to catch a little network prime time: you may be mildly entertained, but damned if you’ll remember any of it five minutes later. On the plus side, you probably won’t care. - Pete Vonder Haar Film Threat

  • **NEW** character development: 9.3/10 - All 7 of them are developed very well.
  • Sound: 8.8/10 - The sounds of this film are also impressive. Alien noises, spaceship noises, computer sounds......great for a 1979 film.

  • Action: 9.2/10 - The action sequences in this film has lots of tension.
  • CInematography: 9.5/10 - Amazing stuff. At the alien planet, the things you see are so spectacular. You can see there are large structures beside the actors. I wonder if they can built something so huge. Great sets.
  • Soundtrack: 9/10 - Jerry Goldsmith creates the eerie atmosphere wonderfully.

GOOD: Scott’s masterful use of shadows, framing and sound has never been more terrifying. No matter how many times you’ve seen this, you’ll still be hiding behind your fingers at every conceivable juncture. - Chris Hewitt , Empire
