BATMAN RETURNS (1992)

Batman Returns (1992) http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0103776/
3 out of 5 stars
After watching this one, i felt that the original Batman(1989) is much more darker and better. This film still have some great scenes like the one Batman turned his batmobile and took advantage of the fire at the back of the car to blast a bad guy who loves spraying fire everywhere. Serve him right! This movie have still some dark feeling that only TIm BUrton can do. In Batman, there is also this similar dark feeling. Batman Returns introduction shows a baby being thrown into the sewage. 33 years later he became Batman's enemy The Penguin(Danny Devito). Then there's also Catwoman, which i think is an unnesscary character. without Catwoman, there would be more screen time for Batman and Penguin and more character development for the two. The introducton of Catwoman is very poor and really unnesscary. The Penguin's umbrallas can do special stuff like shooting bullets out of it. I felt that the joker is much more better than the Penguin. Towards the ending Tim Burton decides to entertain the viewers by putting lots of explosions and some fighting sequences. Michael Keaton acts well but the Penguin acting should be better. The score by DAnny Elfman is superb especally the End Credits. Overall....this movie is good but not as good as Batman.

Wallace & Gromit in The Curse of the Were-Rabbit (2005)

Wallace & Gromit in The Curse of the Were-Rabbit (2005)
4.5 out of 5 stars
This movie is a joy to watch. The animation is as good as those which uses CGI. I really like the lovely clay characters as well as the setting. This animation is about a were-rabbit causing trouble to the village and threatens the annual giant vegetable growing contest. The movie is well paced andn has some very good action such as the aeroplane dogfight. It is amazing how they managed to create that sequence using stop-motion. I recemmend this film to anybody who wants to be entertained on a boring friday night. For adults, please do not think this movie is for kids. You can watch it with them. Steve Box and Nick Park are the creators and i respect them alot.

THE GREAT ESCAPE (1963)

The Great Escape (1963) http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0057115/
5 out 5 stars
This film, although over 170 mins long, is an instant classic and i can recommend this movie to anyone who is willing to learn about the greatest escape of WWII. This movie has good pacing. The front part shows the first day of life in the germen POW camp. Many tried to escape. They failed. The middle part shows the digging of the tunnel and how some lucky people managed to escape. However, they were not so lucky in the ending. The character development is superb and the acting is great. However, you have to sit for 170mins and some do not have the stamina to do that. Some people might say this movie is too boring as they have no patience to wait. I hope you are not this kind of people. Just sit back, relax, admire the scenery and most importantly, enjoy the movie. 5 out of 5 stars.
